Qualifications you can earn
Being an Air Cadet has its advantages. Not only will you have a head start on others should you wish to join the RAF, but you can also achieve a wide range of qualifications:
- St. John Ambulance Young Lifesaver Plus - First Aid
- BTEC Award in Aviation Studies - equivalent to 1 GCSE A-C grade
- BTEC First Diploma in Public Services - equivalent to 4 GCSEs A-C grades
- BTEC First Diploma in Music - equivalent to 4 GCSEs A-C grades
- BTEC Certificate in Aviation Studies - equivalent to 2 GCSEs A-C grades
- ILM Certificate in Team Leading - Level 2 (administered by CVQO)
And there are a few for staff, too:
- St. John Ambulance Young Lifesaver Plus - Assessor
- City & Guilds Graduateship in Youth Management and Training (Level 6)
- City & Guilds Licentiateship in Youth Leadership and Training (Level 4)
- ILM Introductory Certificate in First Line Management (Level 3)
- Edexcel NVQ Verification Award (Level 4)
- Edexcel NVQ Assessor Award (Level 3)
